Type of steel profile
The molten steel from the steelmaking furnace is cast into slabs, and the ingots or slabs are press processed into steel (steel products). There are many types of steel, which can be generally divided into four categories: section, plate, tube and wire.
1, sectional steel
There are many types of section steel, which is a solid strip steel with a certain cross-sectional shape and size. There are two types of simple and complex sections according to their cross-sectional shapes. The former includes round steel, square steel, flat steel, hexagonal steel and angle steel; the latter includes rails, I-beams, channel steels, window frame steels, and shaped steels. Small round steel with a diameter of 6.5 -9.0mm is called wire.
2, steel plate
A steel plate is a flat steel with a wide aspect ratio and a large surface area. According to different thickness, it can be divided into thin plate (thickness <4mm), middle plate (thickness 4-25mm) and thick plate (thickness> 25mm). Steel strips are included in the category of steel plates.
3, steel pipes
Steel pipes are long steel bars with a hollow cross section. According to its cross-sectional shape, it can be divided into round pipe, square pipe, hexagon pipe and various special-shaped steel pipes. According to different processing technology, it can be divided into two categories: seamless steel pipe and welded steel pipe.
4, steel wire
Steel wire is another cold-worked product of wire. Divided into round wire, flat wire and triangle wire according to different shapes. In addition to the direct use of steel wire, it is also used to produce steel wire rope, steel wire and other products.
